Dorothy (Porter) Smith, 90, of Carrollton, Texas, formerly of Clay City, died at 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 10, 2000, at the Twin Pines Nursing Home, in Carrollton, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 15, 2000, at the Clay City United Methodist Church, Clay City. Sam Anderson will officiate at the services. Burial will be held in Clay City Cemetery, Clay City. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 14, at the Summers-Kistler Funeral Home, Clay City.
Mrs. Smith was born on July 5, 1909, in Louisville, the daughter of Earl S. and Irene (Eaton) Porter. She married Bernard A. (Nordy) Smith on September 7, 1929. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1993.
Surviving are one son, Jack Smith, of Belleair Bluffs, Fla.; two daughters, Barbara Coward, of Carrollton, Texas, and Judy Smith, of Cape Cod, Mass.; twelve grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one son.
